Hey man, still reading the strip. I totally understand the change in schedule thing. I got a new job this summer and my drawing STOPPED completely. But listen, once you get the update thing down, you should send your URL to one of the guys at Fleen.com, I think they’d appreciate knowing about this. Take it easy!

Holy cow, donovan… you just made my week. When I first posted about taking a break I assumed no one was reading; now not only do I find out I have readers but I’m used as an example of something good at HalfPixel. Needless to say, the hiatus ends Monday!

And I’m enjoying Donut-Man… “A freight train… made of pork!” Great stuff. If that’s what you’re coming up with in a cramped schedule, I can’t wait until summer.

someone mentioned you on the halfpixel forums. Umm, I don’t remember why. I think someone wanted to point out the fact that you use non-human characters who almost never address the fact that they aren’t human? You don’t find many “Ha ha! I’m a talking pen! WACKY!” jokes, and it’s part of why it’s so funny. I don’t remember who linked you, but it means there are several people at the least reading Red Pen.

And thanks for checking out my blog! I want to get a website up this summer and put more time into my comics for a change. I’m definitely still finding my legs.

Woot! Thanks for the note, donovan… it’s amazing what a difference it makes to hear someone pipe up and say “I’m reading it!”

I do think I’ll take the week, though. I’ll be back, but not before I get up to speed on Donut-Man…
